Clear the Stage for Banmaxian《斑马线来了》- Hit Chinese Web series by Feichang Fresh member

I just watched the first part of a web series called Clear the Stage for Banmaxian (《斑马线来了》). The creator is Antoine Shapiro, the same guy who’s part of Feichang Fresh.

It got 650, 000 views on it’s first day on Youku. I’m seriously impressed. Feichang Fresh sings some of my favourite Chinese songs. Now Antoine has created another awesome Chinese show!? Who are these guys. Their Chinese is amazing. The show itself is also really good, with romance, friendships, dreams and music. Now if these laowai are not inspiring, then I don’t know what is.

    Thanks for sharing. They tell a good story, even if the acting is a bit awkward at times. Also, I think they raise some good points in the opening act. Speaking Chinese well doesn’t really mean anything anymore, way too many people can do it. I think it’s for the better. Language is a tool for communication, and it shouldn’t be the only tool in your toolbox.

    It’s time for Chinese language learners to go beyond memorizing classical poems and stand up comedy, it’s time for us to take that tool and create something new, something great, something worth sharing!

    Hey Jacob,

    I agree. You can’t just go there and be special for something that is now common. We all need to create what we can, not because of the easy way out, but because of the creative endeavor of it.

    I’m just glad that these guys can produce content on par with many other Chinese productions.
